During this Thanksgiving season we are so grateful for your prayers and generous financial support. We are also thankful because we were recently able to see some of the fruit of our ministry. This doesn’t happen often when college students graduate and head to the four corners of the globe.

Ryan entered the University of Connecticut in the fall of 1997. A freshman Political Science major he planned on going into politics after graduation. He was a young believer looking for other Christians on campus when he came to his first Cru meeting. In the span of about 15 minutes he had spoken with and shaken the hand of each of the 30 students and staff in the room. His political future was looking bright!

Ryan was a part of Nate’s first Bible Study as a staff member. Over four years we studied Ephesians, 1 John and the attributes of God together. Ryan recently told Nate, “I still remember what we studied in Bible Study together. One verse in particular impacted my life. It was ‘If we claim to have fellowship with Him, but walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth’ [1 John 1:6]. I realized that there were areas that needed to change in my life.” Instead of politics, he entered seminary after graduation and began working at a financial firm.

This past October, we had the privilege of being able to attend Ryan’s pastoral installation service. Ryan is now the Assistant Pastor of Marketplace Ministries at his church. His role is to be an “unpaid tent making servant of the Lord with the desire to lead others to live and work for the glory of God among people who wouldn’t normally go to church.”

We are excited to see Ryan continuing to have an impact on the world ten years after graduation. He is living out what Cru is all about—life change happening in college, impacting the world for a lifetime. You have been a part of Ryan’s life change and impact through your prayer and financial support.

In Nate’s role overseeing finances for the Cru campus teams in New York and New England, he gets to work behind the scenes to help other staff experience the joy of seeing students sent from their ministries to the world.
